Hi.

We are Bud and Beth. We sold most of our belongings (stored the rest) and hit the road for one year around the world. Follow our adventure as we go to 26 countries and 45 cities (give or take a few) in one year.

WHATS APP AND WHY WE USE IT.

WHATS APP AND WHY WE USE IT.

One of the main apps we have found extremely useful is WhatsApp. WhatsApp was purchased by Facebook for 22 billion dollars back in October of 2014.

WhatsApp is a messaging app that is very similar to your basic texting app. The difference is that you don’t get charged for sending messages. So if two WhatsApp users are texting each other – it does not count against your cell phone service providers texting limit. Also, if you are in another country and you turn off your data to your phone so you don’t get any international charges, you can still use WhatsApp as long as you are connected to Wi-Fi to send messages. Another big perk is that you can call internationally for free through your WhatsApp phone to anyone else who is using WhatsApp.

WhatsApp has several other features like being able to send photos, recorded voice messages and your location information if you want to.

So far on my trip, I have called family members just to say hi and have had no charges for international calls or texting. My family has a continual family text between 10 family members and I am able to text them daily as long as I have a Wi-Fi connection. I currently text my family more frequently and I’m keeping up with them more daily then I did when I was back home.

We have come to reply upon WhatsApp and appreciate its free service.
