HOW MUCH WE SPENT FOR THE MONTH OF JULY
The month of July has come and gone and we now have the numbers for a second month of travel. By keeping track of our finances this way it helps keep us within in our budget and on track for making our trip last a full year.
Each location can really very in spending depending on the strength of the American dollar and the economy of the country. We have chosen a few areas that we knew would break our budget – Ibiza, Dubai, Paris, Venice and Tokyo. We have also chosen some areas to help bring balance back to the budget – South Africa, India, SE Asia and Fiji.
There have been a few unexpected costs that we did not count on, like the Eurail. We were under the impression that once you bought the Eurail pass you were good to go (except sleeper cars). However, many of the lines charge an extra fee on top of the Eurail pass. We decided to keep track of what we spend on the extra fees and also do a search for the same trip price without the Eurail pass. In the end we will be able to see if buying a Eurail pass was really a good deal or not.
We are not 5 star travelers but not 1 star either. I would give us a 3 star rating on the luxury living we have been traveling with. Hopefully you will find this information useful in planning your own Around the World trip. Beth
