AIRBNB IN AMSTERDAM NETHERLANDS
In Amsterdam we stayed about 30 minutes away from the city center. We rented the top part of a home in the small town of Den ilp. We had to ride our bikes each day for 10 minutes just to get to the bus stop. Then we would take a 20-minute bus to the city.
The town of Den ilp which is near Landsmeer is very picturesque, quiet and lovely. We were able to take the bikes that the Airbnb host loaned us and go for a great bike ride in a big park with many canals running through it. The main street of Den ilp and Landsmeer is lined with canals. Many of the homes have boats attached nearby. It was like the area belonged in a fairytale. We paid $55 a night for our Airbnb rental, which I feel is a great deal.
When we went to Amsterdam, I had no idea the number of canals and how beautiful the surrounding area would be. The locals told us that we were lucky that we got there in the best part of their summer. Like Oregon, they only have 2 good months for summer and a lot of rain the rest of the time.
I would very much enjoy going back to the Netherlands and exploring more. The people were kind and the city was beautiful. Beth
