TABLE MOUNTAIN CAPETOWN SOUTH AFRICA
Table top mountain is a flat topped mountain that overlooks Capetown. It reaches 3563 ft above sea level. You can either hike to the top or you can take the cable car. The original cable car was built in 1926. In 1997 they did a major renovation. The cable car can take 65 people up the mountain at a time and the car itself rotates around to give everyone a panoramic view. It was amazing. On top of Table mountain is a small restaurant and gift shop. There are several trails and look out areas. Just when we thought we had gotten the best shot - we came upon a different lookout area and had to take more pictures. The view was amazing and the rocks seemed to go on and on. We saw people using ropes to repel down the steep sides. Beth
