Hi.

We are Bud and Beth. We sold most of our belongings (stored the rest) and hit the road for one year around the world. Follow our adventure as we go to 26 countries and 45 cities (give or take a few) in one year.

RABAT, CHELLAH, KASBAH

RABAT, CHELLAH, KASBAH

Out and about for the day, we take a train for an hour north of Casablanca. Rabat is the capital of Morocco with a population for 580,000.

We made our way to Chellah, Pre-Christian ruins and alot of storks. The ruins were a sight to see but all the information was in French and Arabic so we were unable to really understand what were were seeing. Bud did a fabulous job trying to get the jest by reading the french and I used my google translate to understand some of the tougher words. The storks were abundant with large nests atop surrounding dead trees and the ruins themselves. The gardens were a nice distraction from the heat. Once again, small kittens were plentiful. So fun to play with and so sad to leave.

The Kasbah is more of a area rather than a specific building. It is a area of town with white home dwellings, blue lower trim and very narrow street/walkway. It sits atop a hill and looks over the Atlantic ocean. The beaches are rocky and surrounded by large cemetery's. The fog was thick but the air was hot. The cemetery head stones were worn to the point of not being able to read the inscriptions.  The photos we show are only a small portion of the amount of headstones we saw. Unfortunately they are not maintained and the trash is overwhelming.
